Breathe & Stretch: The Best Yoga Studios in Columbus, Ohio
Things have come a long way since yoga became popular in the US in the early 1900s! At that time, Indian gurus arrived, and organizations like the Vedanta Society and the Self-Realization Fellowship started flourishing.
The first significant shift happened in the 60s when yoga became immensely popular among the counterculture and health and wellness communities, becoming the mainstream form of exercise and mindfulness that you can enjoy today.
There are good reasons for this, as yoga is an excellent exercise with immense benefits. It can improve flexibility and balance, strengthen muscles, reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, boost the immune system, increases mindfulness, and more.
But not all studios are created equally. In this list of the best yoga studios in Columbus, you will find welcoming, clean spaces with highly trained, supportive, and engaging instructors. Pick one or more based on your preferences, and get started with this life-changing practice!
GIVE Yoga

GIVE Yoga also hosts many fun events and really tries (successfully) to create a strong, vibrant, and friendly community right here in Columbus. They even have yoga retreats in nature to encourage you to pause and disconnect from the daily momentum with sound baths, locally-grown and crafted meals, and more.

Bikram Hot Yoga Columbus
Bikram Yoga, a style of hot yoga where 26 yoga poses are performed in a 105°F room with 40% humidity, is thought to work every part of the body, from the bones to the skin, through standing poses, forward bends, backbends, and twists. If you’re looking to increase strength, flexibility, and balance and don’t mind the heat, Bikram Hot Yoga Columbus is for you!
They recommend coming fully hydrated to class – students with regular practice will generally drink between 60 and 80 oz of water a day, but advise against eating for 2 hours before class as Bikram Yoga is best done on an empty stomach. Wear light clothing, and try to avoid sweats or baggy clothing – you will want to be able to see your knees. Every class there is a beginner class, and everyone is welcome! Come with an open mind and a willingness to try your best (and a yoga mat, a large beach towel, and water.)… That’s it!
