Adriatico’s New York-Style Pizza
It can be hard to believe that this unassuming campus mainstay, with its pizzas, subs, pasta, and salads, would be one of the best spots in the area, but customer feedback doesn’t lie. And we love it too!
Adriatico’s New York-Style Pizza has plenty of vegetarian options, classic and original toppings, and a friendly staff that makes everyone feel welcome.
They have three choices of crust: extra thin, thin, and thick Sicilian. Some fan favorites include the Vegetarian (choice of onions, green peppers, mushrooms, green olives, extra cheese), the Chicken Pesto (chicken, tomato, spinach, onion, ricotta cheese, pesto sauce), and the Inflation Fighter (nine items for the price of five, including pepperoni, ham, beef, sausage, green olives, black olives, green peppers, onions, mushrooms). Crusts aren’t gluten-free but are egg, nut, and dairy-free.
For dessert, they offer 12 rotating flavors of gelato available by the scoop or by the pint, as well as fresh-baked double chocolate chip cookies and chocolate fudge brownies. They also have 18 beers on tap and various bottles and cans from a rotating selection that includes many local craft IPAs, lagers, porters, and some ciders and seltzers, and a smaller selection of wine.

Borgata Pizza Cafe
Borgata Pizza Cafe has perfected the art of New York-style pizza with its perfectly cooked, delightful cheese slices with a fantastic and flavorful crust. See for yourself with these original and mouth-watering options, including the Mediterranean Roasted Vegetable (roasted eggplant, zucchini, caramelized onions, mozzarella cheese, roasted garlic, & roasted red peppers, and spinach), the Pesto Chicken (roasted Chicken breast with mozzarella, pesto, red onion, spinach, and roasted red peppers), and the Supreme (Sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, onions & mozzarella).

Paulie Gee’s
Great thick, square, and thin-crust pizzas await at Paulie Gee’s, along with generous salads and cocktails. You will love the crispy, chewy, and cheesy “cheddar edges”, the honey drizzle, and the fresh ingredients, and it is one of the few places on this list where you can get a spectacular vegan pizza.
Some must-haves include the Hellboy®, which comes loaded with Italian tomatoes, hot soppressata, fresh mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Mike’s hot honey drizzle, and the Cacio e Pepe made with fresh and aged mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Romano, garlic, burrata, and cracked black pepper. The Pizza House
No wonder The Pizza House ended up on Columbus native Mike Gallicchio’s “Perfect Pies” review. With words like “iconic” and “fantastic”, you know you won’t be disappointed. Try a slice at random for the stellar menu, follow his recommendations and order the pepperoni, mushroom, and banana pepper combo, or go for a House Specialty Pizza like the famed white special, loaded with their homemade white sauce (oil, garlic, and Italian spices), provolone cheese, chicken, tomato slices, and onion.
They also have vegetarian options and are known for being a very kid-friendly place. Hands down one of the best pizza in Columbus!

Tommy’s Pizza
Tommy’s Pizza is one of the most venerable spots in Old North Columbus and the second oldest pizza restaurant in the city, having served Central Ohio for over 60 years. It is known for its classic but casual yet excellent menu offerings made from high-quality ingredients. It is a great choice any day of the week when you’re in the mood for crispy, hot, and satisfying slices.
Their pepperoni is the most popular topping option, followed closely by mushroom and then sausage. Green pepper and onion round out the top five. All of these most popular items make up their “All-The-Way” pizza. If you want something lighter, their Vegetarian is made with mushrooms, green pepper, and onion. They also offer various beverages, including alcoholic options like beer, wine, and White Claw.

Dewey’s Pizza
Not only does Dewey’s Pizza serve great pizza, but they are also dedicated to supporting the Columbus community through charitable donations. GoreMade Pizza started out as a fun weekly evening between friends, only to become a firm favorite at Farmers Markets and then a restaurant in the Italian village. Today, they pride themselves in sourcing local ingredients as much as possible to make their delicious wood-fired pizzas, including pork from Butcher & Grocer, mushrooms from Green Edge Garden, cheese from Blue Jacket Dairy, and more.
It makes for ever-changing toppings. Start with the Comfort Zone Harry (fresh mozzarella and your choice of sauce), and add your own extras like caramelized onions, meats, olives, and more. Pizza Rustica is a counter-serve chain that offers Roman-style rectangular pies, slices, and more. It’s the go-to place for many people working in downtown Columbus who want a quick but tasty meal.

By far, some of the best pizza in Columbus for many locals. Fibonacci’s Pizzeria plants many of the ingredients themselves, like the peppers, to add to their fantastic woodfired pies. Pie of The Tiger
If you are a fan of square pizzas, you will love Pie of the Tiger, the go-to option in Columbus for Detroit-style pizza that’s thick and satisfying without being overly deep. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are having the best time, even though the place can get pretty crowded due to how popular it is.
All pizzas come cut into four squares and are topped with basil and tomato sauce and provolone on top unless otherwise noted. Terita’s Pizza
There is no shortage of 5-star reviews for Terita’s Pizza, a family-owned spot that first opened in 1959 and has become famous for using the very best ingredients and serving their own homemade Italian sausage with no fillers. It was even voted #1 pizzeria in 2022 by Pizza Connoisseurs of Columbus!

The Wizard of Za
The Wizard of Za started at the very beginning of the pandemic when they began making homemade pies and taking orders through Instagram. Word spread, and so did the waitlist. Fast forward to today, they settled down in Clintonville in late 2020, got a larger pizza oven to expand their options, and now serve walk-in and delivery customers alike on the spot.
One of their favorites is definitely the Rainbow Pie served Wizard-style with the sauce on top of the cheese, with stripes of vodka sauce, house red sauce, house pest sauce, and mozzarella. But customers also love the Sorcerer’s Supreme pie with house red sauce or vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, sausage crumbles, bell pepper, mushrooms, and white onions, and the Vodka Pie with tomato cream sauce and fresh mozzarella.
